The Cut’s Sound Equipment - The Cut is equipped with a 24-up, 4-back multicore from stage to sound desk and return. This delivers to a Peavey RQ2318 18 channel mixer desk, this provides front-of-house left and right outputs, two monitor feeds and two effect channels plus a mono out. The Mono out is normally used to feed the inductive hearing loop. The normal Stereo outputs go down to the amplifier in the dimmer rack independantly of the multicore. The whole sound system is powered from the 13 amp mains socket on the wall behind the sound desk and is send down to the dimmer racks to power amp too. We find running the stage electrics from this extension lead (that feeds the power amp) as the preffered way in achieving minimum noise problems, i.e. all sound equipment from one single socket so no loops.

BE AWARE THAT THE TWO SIDES OF THE CUT'S 13 AMP RING MAIN ARE DERIVED FROM DIFFERENT PHASES.

The front-of-house outputs go to a peavey 1500 power amp via separate feeds to the multi-core, monitors outputs use the multi core returns. This amp drives a pair of Peavey 15“ speakers flown on the auditorium walls stage left and right.

There is also a 12'' powered monitor and a passive slave monitor which connects to it, both Peavey.

We also leave a CD, DVD, Cassette tape and Video Tape players on the sound desk for use if you need them.

When we are at the Cut - We add to the venue a further Peavey 1500 amp driving a pair of Peavey Pro 15 speakers and 2 x 400w self powered bass bins. We can also add a pair of extra powered monitors and a further pair of monitor slaves, all Peavey.

We nomally connect into the mixer deck with a stack consisting of mixer for splitting the desk outputs into four individual signals to drive the four mid speakers separately and a separate feed for the bass bins. The stack also has two, two channel effect boxes (Behringer), a four channel compression unit (Behringer), CD/DVD player (Aiva), noise destruction unit (Behringer), two mini-discs (Sony) no auto-pause, 32 channel EQ unit on front-of-house EQ for both monitor feeds,  a pair of EQ inserts for guitars feeds etc.

We also use computer based sound analysis software for both tuning conformation and EQ setting control allowing exceptionally accurate feedback management.

We carry enough kit to host up eight piece bands, Mics (Shure), Mic stands, DI's (Behringer) etc, extra desks plus all necessary cabling.

Recording is available if required, delivered on your choice of format.
