The Cut’s Lighting Equipment - The Cut is equipped with a pair of six channel dimmers, driven by a 12 Channel Zero88 Alcora lighting desk, this desk is programmable and can be switched to wide mode (24 channel) if extra DMX based dimmers are provided.

Alcora Lighting desk user Manual available here

The lighting rig consists of five bars across the theatre running from audience row five (FOH bar) to the back of the theatre, supporting a range of lights illustrated below, and theatre plan.

From the rear wall of the stage you have:

Rear sets (three bars), six connections on individual TRSs

Next bar forward, Mid Stage, has six connections via pigtail

Then there is the Electric cinema screen

Next bar over the normal front-of-stage area,  has eight connections via socketed bar

Next bar above audience row one has twelve connections via two pigtails

And the front-of-house bar above row five has seven connections via a pigtail and one TRS.

The venue hosts an array of lanterns and based on the following type, however due to the varring number of groups and companies that us the venue, the avaiability of which lanterns are in service needs to be confirmed as bulb replacement and lamp holder replacement is carried out on a best efforts basis, normally by us.

Please Note: The venue does not carry the following items: Iris for any of the lanterns; gobo holders; any extra TRS other than that which is currently flown forming the current grid; gel stock; stage wieghts; flats; drapes.

Some lanterns have gel holders, many do not, one or two lanterns have barn doors, most lanterns that can take them have shutters (blades) but they may well be removed. All flown lanterns have and must have safety chains.

When we are at the Cut - We add to the venue further dimmers to increase the compliment to 24 channels if driven by the Zero 88 desk or thirty-two dimmer channels and eight switched channels when driven by our own computer based lighting desk solution. Sound effects can also be synced and played to lighting changes when using the computerized desk.

Conference support – when supporting conference type events we can provide digital projection, Powerpoint, Video in all standard formats onto the Cut’s four by three metre electric screen, OHP projection,  and recording, providing you with a permanent record of your event, often proving useful in case of any subsequent queries about the day’s events.
